The Executive Director, Enterprise Uganda, Mr. Charles Ocici has told the youths of Rujumbura County, Rukungiri District that their destiny rested in their hands. He said they could not expect to live on donations all the time but should instead start their own enterprises after attending the business clinic."If you can not look after yourself, you will be given a gift that looks like you. If you look a like a half a kg of salt or half a bar of soap, that is what you will be given", he said. Mr. Ocici added that "when you start your own enterprise, you will have a greater wealth potential than when you have a job."

Mr. Ocici encouraged the youths to believe in themselves, listen to their voices and have the confidence required for self-emanicipation. He warned the educated youths who despise going into business that if they did not take the message seriously, they should be ready to be employed by less educated youths who get started in business immediately after attending the clinic.

Mr. Ocici gave the advice at the closing of a 5-day Business & Enterprise Start-up Tool (BEST) clinic conducted by Enterprise Uganda at Makobore High School, Rukungiri from 16-20 August 2010. This was the 15th BEST clinic conducted by Enterprise Uganda and was attended by 1601 youths and their leaders. It became the highest attendance to date by youths who had to make a contribution of Ushs. 5,000/= each to attend the clinic.

The Area Memeber of Parliament Hon. Maj.Gen. Jim Muhwezi who presided at the closing ceremony advised the youths to utilize the skills they had acquired and exploit the opportunities thay had identified to start their own income generating activities. He counselled the youths that poverty starts from the mind and now that they had learnt that the most important souce of capital was their brains, they should elimiante the excuse of lack of capital and become agents of change to their peers and communities.By so doing they would be contributing to prosperity for all and transforming their lives and those of their families.
