The
Executive Director, Enterprise Uganda, Mr.
Charles Ocici has tipped the Youths and leaders
of Kyenjojo District on how to create jobs
and wealth for themselves. He advised the
participants poverty does not know one's religious
orientation, tribe, academic background, social
status etc. "Each one of us irrespective
of gender has the responsibility of eradicating
poverty in our homesteads and leaving enough
inheritance for future generations";
he said. Mr. Ocici was speaking at the closing
of the 5-day Business & Enterprise start-up
Tool clinic that was conducted from 26-30
July at the Kyenjojo District Administration
Grounds. He said Africans were poor because
they ignored the most sources of capital they
had: their brains and time. "For a white
a man his day starts at mid-night while for
Africans, theirs starts at 7a.m. six hours
late which they fondly refer to as only 1:00a.m
".
He noted that the clinic was the first of
its kind in Kyenjojo where participants left
the comfort of their homes to sleep in a tent
under very chilly conditions to gain skills
to improve their livelihoods. a total of 1042
participants attended the clinic and
each participant had to pay Ushs. 5000/= to
attend the clinic.
