Kashaari
County, Mbarara District is one of the counties
in Uganda that is endowed with lot of untapped
resources and potential. Locally it is sometime
referred to as “the land of milk and
honey” highlighting the abundance of
such high value products. However, a lot of
these resources are not optimally exploited
for the economic benefit of the local people.
Milk, fruit and raw materials wastages have
been reported to as high as between 25-40%
for some fruits like the cooking bananas locally
referred to as matooke. |

The Business
Clinic had an attendance of 584 youth and
their leaders. Moreover, each youth and
leader had to contribute Ushs. 5,000/= towards
the training, in contrast with other programmes
where people are paid to attend trainings
even if such trainings are for their own
benefit.
